People's United Community Foundation Awards More Than $855 Thousand During Its Second Grant Cycle of 2018

Grants Awarded to 159 Non-profits Across the Northeast

The People’s United Community Foundation, the philanthropic arm of People’s United Bank, N.A., announced that it has awarded $855,500 during its second grant cycle of 2018 to 159 non-profit organizations throughout the communities it serves in Connecticut, New York, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine.

Funding was distributed in support of activities that ranged from basic needs services and affordable housing initiatives to education, workforce development and life skills training programs. The grants were disseminated in alignment with the foundation’s three areas of focus, including 41 percent to community and economic development, 40 percent to youth development, and 19 percent to affordable housing initiatives.

“We are pleased to support the important work of our community partners who are providing critical programs and services that are helping to strengthen our communities,” said Karen Galbo, Executive Director of the Foundation.
