Variable Life Insurance
Variable life insurance differs from whole life or universal life insurance in that policy owners direct a portion of their premium payments to several different investment accounts.* This makes variable life insurance more risky than other forms of cash value insurance, but it affords you a possibility of greater returns. Some of the account choices for variable life insurance are:
- Common stocks
- Money Market
With this type of policy, the death benefit and cash value vary in relation to the value of the investments within the policy. If the value of the account increases, so will the benefits; if the value of the account decreases, so will the benefits, subject to a minimum guarantee. This type of insurance is also typically more expensive then traditional permanent insurance.
