People’s United Bank Announces Additions To Connecticut Investment Management Team
Jim Alfieri, Brian Murphy and Jim Witterschein Bring an Aggregate of 88 Years of Experience
BRIDGEPORT, CT – People’s United Bank announced today that Jim Alfieri, Brian Murphy and Jim Witterschein have joined the bank’s Investment Management Team in Connecticut.
“We are excited to have these seasoned professionals, who bring a combined 88 years of experience in investment management, to our Wealth Management Team,” said Manuel Andrade, J.D., L.LM, Senior Vice President and Connecticut Region Manager, Wealth Management. “Each of them brings substantial expertise in portfolio management coupled with a focus on providing an outstanding customer experience. These are all key attributes.”
Jim Alfieri joins People’s United Bank as a Senior Vice President and Chief Investment Officer. He has over 33 years of investment experience, having previously worked at First Niagara Bank’s Private Client Services, Webster Bank’s Trust, Fleet Investment Advisors, and Wilmington Trust. Alfieri is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and graduated from the University of Delaware earning both his B.S. in Business Administration in Financial Management and his MBA from the school. His alma mater recognized Alfieri with the Lerner “Fabulous 50” MBA Alumni designation. Alfieri will be working out of the bank’s New Haven office located at 265 Church Street, Suite 701.
Brian Murphy joins the bank as a Senior Portfolio Manager. With over 25 years as an Investment Advisor, Murphy has worked at Deutsche Bank, BNY Mellon, Merrill Lynch and PNC Wealth Management. Murphy holds a B.S. in Finance from Providence College and earned his MBA in Finance from Fordham University. He is also licensed in Series 3, 7 and 66 securities. Murphy will be serving clients from the bank’s headquarters at 850 Main Street in Bridgeport.
Jim Witterschein joins People’s United as a Senior Portfolio Manager with 25 years experience managing portfolios for individuals, families, non-profit organizations and institutions. In the course of his career, Witterschein has worked with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Merrill Lynch Investment Managers and PNC Wealth Management. Witterschein graduated from William Paterson College with a B.A. in Business Administration, and earned his M.B.A. in Finance at Fairleigh Dickinson University. Witterschein will be based at the bank’s Cos Cob office at 119 East Putnam Avenue.
