VINCENT SANTILLI TO ASSUME LEADERSHIP OF THE PEOPLE’S UNITED COMMUNITY FOUNDATION

BRIDGEPORT, CT –
People’s United announced today that effective July 1, Vincent Santilli, First Vice President, Retail and Business Banking and Community Relations, will assume the role of Executive Director of the People’s United Community Foundation, replacing Hank Mandel, as he retires from People’s United.

“In his tenure at the People’s United Community Foundation, Hank spearheaded the effort to expand the foundation’s reach beyond its initial Connecticut and New York service areas,” said Jack Barnes, President and CEO of People’s United Bank and Chairman of the People’s United Community Foundation. “Today, the Foundation provides grants to nonprofit agencies in all six states in which we do business. Hank’s leadership style, coupled with his ability to rally people together around a common goal, brought the foundation to the next level in its development. We are grateful to Hank for the dedication he has shown in personifying People’s United’s historical commitment to the communities we serve. We wish him well.”

Speaking of the Foundation’s new Executive Director, Vincent Santilli, Barnes noted, “Vince currently has responsibility for the company’s community relations function so this new role dovetails perfectly with that work. His community connections and personal relationships with many nonprofit organizations, together with his knowledge of the bank and its community involvement strategy, make him uniquely suited to assume leadership of the foundation.”

A 27-year veteran of People’s United Bank, Vince will also continue in his current role in the Retail and Business Banking division, where he is responsible for driving sales, growth and strategic initiatives in People’s United’s 86-branch in-store banking network and for the bank’s partnership with the Stop & Shop supermarket company.

Active in his community, Santilli is a member of the Kennedy Center Board of Directors and the Economics and Finance Advisory Board for Sacred Heart University’s John F. Welch College of Business. He also coaches Special Olympics soccer for SOCT-Fairfield and serves as a head basketball coach in the Cardinal Shehan Center Developmental Basketball League. Santilli is active with the Knights of Columbus.

In the past, Santilli has served on the advisory board and as a budget and finance committee member of Catholic Family Services of Bridgeport and Catholic Charities of Fairfield County. He has also served on the board of directors of the Stamford Partnership and the Stratford Chamber of Commerce. He is a distinguished past president of the Kiwanis Club of Bridgeport and received the 1999 Civic Award from the Trinacria Society of Greater Bridgeport for his contributions to the field of Banking and Commerce. In 1998, he was selected as the Kennedy Center’s Volunteer of the Year for his work with the center’s Special Olympians.

Santilli holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and public policy from the University of Pennsylvania and a master’s degree in business administration from Sacred Heart University.
