Login Process

Belmont Savings Bank Online Banking will be in inquiry-only mode starting at 3:00 PM ET, Friday, July 26 and will remain so throughout conversion weekend. People’s United Online Banking will be made available to you in full on Monday, July 29 at 8:00 AM ET. 

Your temporary password is PuBK and last four digits of the social security number of the customer who created the online profile, e.g. if the customer’s social security number is 111-22-2345, the temporary password would be PuBK2345.

Yes, after signing in for the first time, you will be asked to create a new password. Passwords will now be case sensitive and must contain both letters and numbers and should be 8 – 32 characters in length.

Please be sure to check that you are attempting to access an Online Banking profile that you created. The temporary password is based on the last 4 digits of the social security number of the person who established the online banking login.

Be sure that you are using the correct User ID. If you need assistance, call us at 1-800-867-5295.

To unlock your account and have your password reset, you may use the unlock option presented when logging into Online Banking, contact our dedicated Conversion Hotline at 1-800-867-5295, or visit your local branch.

In the login box, you will enter your User ID and click "login". Then, on the next page, enter your password.

To change your password, log in to Online Banking, click More, Customer Service, and then the "Change Password" link. Please remember that passwords are case sensitive.

Passwords must meet the following criteria:

  • Be at least eight characters in length, but no more than 32 characters.
  • Be different from the user’s user ID, even if different cases are used (uppercase vs. lowercase).
  • Include a combination of the following types of characters:
  • At least one letter – A through Z (uppercase and/or lowercase.)
  • At least one number – 0 through 9.
  • Are case sensitive.

Our enhanced security is designed to detect changes in behavior that are possible indicators of fraud. The system may ask for additional information when the behavior is different. For example, if you regularly sign onto Online Banking from your personal computer and are now attempting to sign on using a mobile device we may require additional authentication.

You will be given the option to enter a one-time security code. One-time security codes provide you the choice to receive either a phone call or SMS text message with the code. The phone number used for phone call or text options will be based on the phone numbers on file.

If you need assistance updating your phone number, you can either visit a local branch for assistance or call our Conversion Hotline at 1-800-867-5295 and we will be happy to assist you. Our Call Center representatives are available 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM ET, 7 days a week.

Please note that a text message can take a few minutes to be delivered. If you still do not receive a text after a few minutes you can cancel and try again or you can try the other security options available. 

You may be experiencing difficulties accessing your account due to one of the following reasons:

  • Double check that you are using your previous Belmont Savings Bank Online Banking User ID.
  • Verify that you are entering the correct temporary password, PuBK and the last four digits of the Social Security Number of the customer that created the profile, e.g. PuBK2345.
  • You have had three invalid login attempts and have been locked out
  • Verify that you selected “Personal” in the login box on peoples.com

Account Overview Page

Yes. People’s United Online Banking gives you a complete picture of your banking relationship. This allows you to see both a view of your deposits (Checking, Savings, Money Market, CDs, Passbooks, Retirement Deposit Accounts) and loans (Home Equity, Credit Lines, Mortgages). You may not recognize an account on your profile. These may be account(s) you did not previously access online such as a joint account with another individual. If you wish to have it removed from your online profile, you can visit a local branch or call the Conversion Hotline at 1-800-867-5295.

Yes, you may contact the Conversion Hotline at 1-800-867-5295 to consolidate your online account list.

Unfortunately, your account nicknames were not carried over. However, you may re-establish your nicknames easily. You can click ’Customize accounts’ on the “Accounts” page. Enter in your account nickname, click submit, and your nicknames will be saved.

You can view the full account number reviewing your historical statements. To view them through Online Banking, select Documents from the menu.

Transaction activity from June and July will be available as of July 29, 2019 and 18 months of eStatements will transfer to People’s United Bank. If you wish to keep any prior information for your records, access the Belmont Savings Bank system to download and print the information you wish to keep before 8:00 AM ET on July 29.

If you currently only receive statements electronically, your eStatement preference will not be carried over and your statements will be mailed. If you receive statements via mail and through eStatements, only your paper statements will continue. You can enroll in our eStatement service at peoples.com on or after July 29, 2019, by selecting “Documents” and “Change your document delivery methods.”

Yes, a running balance is available on the Activity page. You will be able to view transaction activity from June and July initially. Your online account history will then begin accumulating up to 18 months of transactions. For prior account history, please refer to your statements or call us at 1-800-867-5295.

You can click on the "Customize accounts" from the ‘Accounts’ page. Once there, you can select which accounts you would like to see, and which accounts you would like to hide.

Account Activity

With Quicken® Web Connect you can download your Account Activity transactions into Quicken® after logging into People's United Online Banking and clicking on "Download Banking Transactions" from the Accounts menu.

IF YOU HAVE PREVIOUSLY DOWNLOADED FROM BELMONT SAVINGS BANK ONLINE BANKING TO QUICKEN® - follow these steps to deactivate the existing Online Banking connection.

  • Select the Tools menu and select Account List. The Account List window opens
  • Select the account for which you want to deactivate online services and then click Edit. The Account Details window opens
  • Click the Online Services tab
  • Click Deactivate (Remove from One Step Update in older versions) next to the service you want to disable
  • Select Yes to the message asking if you want to disable this service and OK to confirm

To activate a Web Connect Account:

  • Go to peoples.com and login to Online Banking
  • From the Accounts tab select Download Banking Transactions
  • Choose the account and date range you want to download
  • Select the Quicken® Software uses Web Connect option and click Download Transactions. If prompted, click Open.
  • When you open the file in Quicken®, follow the prompts to choose the Quicken® account to which you wish to import the transactions. This will download the transactions from our website into your Quicken® Account.
  • Future downloads from this account will automatically go into that same Quicken® Account.

Web Connect Express:

You will need to establish your account connection using People’s United Bank which is listed as "People’s United Bank – CT" in the list of participating financial institutions.

Yes, you will need to re-register your account through mint.com. Please note People’s United Bank strongly recommends never to provide your Online Banking user ID and password to anyone including third party account aggregators.

For your convenience, this feature allows you to view any scheduled transactions.

You can find the check transaction in your online history and click on the camera icon next to the check transaction description. (NOTE: This does not include HELOC checks.)

Statements

Yes, Online Banking will store up to 18 months of eStatements. For statements older than 18 months, please refer to your printed copies, visit your local branch or call us at 1-800-867-5295.

Transfers

If you currently have an existing transfer between two Belmont Savings Bank accounts, these transfers will convert automatically and continue without interruption.

Please visit your local branch or call our conversion hotline at 1-800-867-5295 and we will be happy to assist you. In some circumstances, you may need to update your account title to enable transfers between the accounts.

Yes, you can choose to use our External Transfer service to send or receive money from accounts you own at other institutions.

No, you will need to re-establish your external accounts using the People's United Bank External Transfer feature in Online Banking.

Yes, you can use our Person-2-Person Pay service to send money using just an email or mobile phone number to anyone.

No, you will need to re-establish your Person-2-Person payment contacts using the People's United Bank Person-2-Person Pay feature in Online Banking.

You can request a transfer to/from your People's United Bank brokerage account by clicking ‘More’ then ’Customer Service’. Then, choose "Brokerage Transfer."

You may transfer from your People's United Bank Home Equity Line to any eligible deposit account on your Online Banking profile. Simply choose "Transfer" from the menu, select the appropriate accounts and provide the transfer information.

Bill Payment

Yes, the payees currently setup in Belmont Savings Bank Online Banking will be available through People’s United Online Banking.

At People’s United Bank, the amount of a payment is debited from your account when the bank processes your payment — not when payment is delivered to the merchant. Please be sure funds are in your account when payments are processed.

Bill payments will be delivered in 2 — 5 business days.

Payments must be requested by 9:00 PM ET to be processed that night.

An e-Bill is an electronic version of your bill that you receive directly through our Online Banking system. This electronic bill can be viewed immediately.

E-Bills are free and they can accelerate and simplify the bill paying process. You simply click it, view it, and pay it.

Person-2-Person Pay

Person-2-Person Pay is a convenient way to send money electronically from your People's United Bank checking account to anyone who has a United States bank account, using Online Banking.

Yes, there are no fees for the Person-2-Person Pay service.

Enroll in Person-2-Person Pay with just a few simple steps: 

  • Sign into Online Banking
  • Select Person-2-Person from the menu
  • On the enrollment page, verify your email address
  • Review our People's United Person-2-Person Pay Service Agreement and Disclosures; acknowledge that you have read the agreement, and agree to continue.
Alerts & Customer Service

Alerts were not carried over from the Belmont Savings Bank Online Banking system. To re-establish your alerts, click on ‘More’ then ‘Customer Service’ and select ‘Alerts’. There, you will be able to choose from several different alert types and preferences.

To establish email alerts, click on ’More’ then ‘Customer Service’ and select ’ Alerts.’ There, you will be able to choose from several different alert types and preferences.

Alerts can be sent to your email address and/or via text message to your mobile phone.

People’s United Online offers a variety of alerts including Balance Alerts, Transaction Alerts (Transfer, Deposit or Check Cleared) and CD Maturity Alerts.

Email alerts are sent on a daily basis – on the following business day.

The People’s United Online Message Center is located under the ‘More’ then ‘Customer Service’. You may simply click ‘Messages’ or ’Contact Us’ to get started.

Yes, you can access the check reorder link by going to ‘More’ then ‘Customer Service’ and select ‘Check Reorder’.
