People's United Mobile Banking lets you bank wherever and whenever you want, right from your mobile device. Mobile Banking offers a Mobile App and Mobile Web Banking for your preference and mobile device capabilities

The People's United Bank mobile App can be used on most mobile devices such as:

Apple:
- iOS 8.0 or higher
- iPhone® 4s, 5, 5s, 5c, 6, 6s, 6 Plus, 7, 7 Plus, 8, 8 Plus and X
- iPad® 4th Gen, Air and Mini(non Retina)


Android:

No, you must first enable your bank account(s) and establish a mobile phone number within eTreasury+ before using Business Mobile Banking.

We do not charge for the People's United Business Mobile Banking service. Message and data rates may apply. Contact your wireless service provider for more information.

The Business Mobile Banking service utilizes best practices from eTreasury+, such as HTTPS, 128-bit SSL encryption, PIN, password, or security token access and app time-out when your phone is not in use. In addition, no account data is ever stored on your phone.

You may enroll other mobile devices for Business Mobile Banking eTreasury+ by using additional mobile phone numbers that you have indicated through your personal preferences in eTreasury+.

If you are concerned about possible misuse of your phone, contact your mobile service provider immediately to take appropriate action. Additionally, please call 1-800-525-9248 to disable or remove your mobile device.

You will need to enroll your new device for mobile banking. This is completed during the initial sign on to mobile banking using the new device.

Simply update your mobile phone numbers in eTreasury+ by going to Administration, Manage contact preferences.

Please call 1-800-525-9248, to get a temporary password. Login to your Business Online Banking eTreasury+ profile using a PC with your temporary password and follow the prompts to create a new permanent password. Once you have successfully created a new password, you can login using your mobile device and new password.

You must first login to your online banking profile using a PC with your temporary password and follow the prompts to create a new permanent password.

In order to login to Business Mobile Banking you will need to have a mobile phone number established in eTreasury+. You can add a mobile phone number by following these steps:

  1. Login to eTreasury+
  2. Go to Administration – User Administration
  3. Select the user to update their Contact Information
  4. Click Edit Contact Information
  5. Select Add additional telephone number
  6. Choose a label of Mobile
  7. Enter the users mobile phone number (numeric only)
  8. Click Save User

If you wish to temporarily disable your device from Business Mobile Banking, complete the following steps:

To disable your phone or other mobile device:

  • Log in from your computer to eTreasury+
  • Click Manage Business Mobile Banking settings under Administration
  • Choose "Disable Device"

You will need to re-enable and re-activate your device for future use.

If you no longer want to use Business Mobile Banking, you may choose to remove your device. You will need to go through the Business Mobile Banking enrollment process for future use.

To remove your phone or other mobile device:

  • Log in from your computer to eTreasury+
  • Click Manage Business Mobile Banking settings under Administration
  • Choose "Remove your Device"

Once you remove your device, you will need to re-enroll to start using Business Mobile Banking again.

If you temporarily disabled your mobile device from Business Mobile Banking, you may re-enable it by doing the following:

  • Log in from your computer to eTreasury+
  • Click Manage Business Mobile Banking settings under Administration
  • Choose "Enable Device"
  • Follow the activation instructions

If you removed your mobile device entirely from Business Mobile Banking, you will not be able to re-enable the device. To re-enroll your device you will need to follow the same steps that you took when you originally registered your device for Business Mobile Banking.

You may occasionally experience inconsistent performance or uncommon errors while using Business Mobile Banking due to caching issues and may need to have the cache, cookies and history cleared from your device.

See below for instructions on how to clear the cache, cookies and history for Android, and Apple devices. For mobile devices not included in this list, you may reference the manual that came with your device for instructions.

For Android:

Step 1: From the list of apps on your Android, click on the “Internet” Icon.

Step 2: Once you are on the internet, at the bottom of your device, there is a “Menu” option, click on this Menu option.

Step 3: Click on “Settings”.

Step 4: Scroll to “Privacy configuration”.

Step 5: Click on “Clear all cookies” and a screen will pop up that says “All cookies will be deleted.” Click “OK”.

Step 6: Click on “Clear cache” and a screen will pop up that says “Locally cached content and databases will be deleted.” Click “OK”.

Step 7: Click on “History” and a screen will pop up that says “The browser navigation history will be deleted”. Click “OK”.

For Apple:

Step 1: From the list of apps on your iPhone, click on “Settings”

Step 2: From the Settings screen, click on “Safari”

Step 3: Click on “Clear History”, “Clear Cookies and Data”

Be sure to check with your manufacturer to understand how this change may impact other apps.

Mobile Check Deposit

Yes! Just follow these simple steps. 

To deposit a check using your mobile device follow these steps: 

  • Sign on to your account from your Business Mobile Banking app
  • From the navigation menu select '+'
  • Choose Check Deposit to start a new deposit
  • Endorse the check you wish to deposit
  • Snap a picture of the front and back of your endorsed check 
  • Click OK once you capture the check images
  • Complete the Deposit Info fields 

 

For the best check image results: 

  • The check should be placed on a dark background
  • All four corners of the check must also fit within the boundary indicated by the app
  • Select a surface with indirect, natural sunlight for best results 

The limits that we will apply will depend on how long you have been a customer of People’s United and the balances you maintain in all of your accounts held at People’s United regardless of eligibility for mobile check deposit.

If you have been a customer for more than ninety (90) days, we have three categories of limits based on your collected monthly balances.


Bronze: Maintain an average collected monthly balance for the last ninety (90) days of less than $10,000.00.

If you are a customer of People’s United for less than ninety (90) days and your aggregate opening deposit balance is less than $10,000, the New customer category will be applied for the first 90 days. If you are a customer of People’s United for less than ninety (90) days but your aggregate opening deposit balance is $10,000.00 or more, you will be eligible for the Bronze category described above.

If you need to deposit a large volume of checks or need a higher deposit limit, our Remote Deposit Capture provides customized limits to meet your need.

Most domestic checks may be processed through Mobile RDC. We are unable to accept Money Orders, Foreign Items, Savings Bonds, or Third Party Checks through Mobile RDC.

For checks deposited and accepted before 7pm on a business day, funds will be available the next business day. For checks deposited and accepted after 7pm on a business day or on a non-business day, funds will be available on the second business day after your deposit. View our Business Mobile Banking Agreement for details.

A "Business Day" means every day except Saturday, Sunday, and federal holidays. Please refer to the Business Mobile Banking Agreement for further information.

Yes, the People's United Bank Business Mobile Banking tablet apps support mobile check deposit. A device with a rear facing auto focused camera is required.

You will need to retake the image of the check you are trying to deposit. When taking the picture of your check, make sure the image of the check is centered, all four check corners are visible, and make sure the picture is taken on a well-lit flat surface.

This error means your account does not meet the following criteria:
  • Must be a valid, open business account type
  • The business accounts may have exceeded the number of allowed returned deposited items

No, pictures of the check you are trying to deposit must be taken at the time you initiate a deposit with your mobile device.

Yes, you can press the cancel button which will allow you to cancel or delete the deposit.

If you would like to retake a picture of the check, you can press the edit button to retake one or both of the two images.

If you did not hit submit you can edit the check deposit.

We will review all incoming checks to ensure it meets all requirements including dollar amount, if we find the amount of the check you entered does not match the amount posted on the check, we will correct the amount. You will then receive an email notification of the changes.

No, all checks must be endorsed with a signature or listed "for deposit only." Please refer to the Business Mobile Banking Agreement for further information.

If the app closed during Mobile Check Deposit try closing any apps not currently being used. Also, check the store for any updates that may be available.

Make sure you have the most updated version of our Business Mobile Banking app and that your device meet the requirements below. 

Minimum Device Standards:

  1. Your iPhone or iPad is running iOS 8.0 or higher.
  2. Your device running Android OS 5.0 or higher and a camera that supports autofocus.
  3. You have enrolled for Business Mobile Banking.

The People's United Bank Business Mobile Banking app allows you to view all of your People's United Bank accounts including loan information, account history, view paid check images, pay bills, manage payees, transfer funds between other People's United Bank accounts, make deposits and track your businesses monthly cash flow expenses and new quickly approve time-sensitive transactions such as ACH and Wire Transfers. 

Note: The accounts viewable through the app must be established in eTreasury+.

The Navigation Menu provides quick access to available features and is available on many pages within the app. Quickly navigate to view accounts, recent transactions, access the Task"+" menu, locate People's United Bank branches and ATMs, and access "More" which includes Approvals.

The Task Menu provides access to money movement features. Money movement features include transfers, bill pay, and check deposit.

The "More" menu contains links to features such as manage payees, access to Approvals, and Help which includes FAQs.

Access recent check deposit and bill payment transactions including scheduled payments using the "Recent" function from the Enhanced Navigation Menu.

The approval feature allows users to review and transmit transactions through the Business Mobile Banking App. Approval roles, transactions, and limits are maintained in eTreasury+.

The Approvals option will only display in the mobile banking app 'More' menu if the user has been assigned the Approve User Role in eTreasury+ allowing the user to approve transactions and/or allowing the user administration privileges. Roles are assigned in eTreasury+ through Manage Users.

Yes, a secure token is required to approve any ACH and/or Wire Transfer request.

Yes, both current day and scheduled transactions are available to be approved using the app. There are two tabs within the Approvals page separating each type of request.

Transaction details may contain the following based on the type of transaction being viewed:

- Originating/Destination 
- ACH Name / ACH ID 
- Template Name 
- Recipient Name
- Effective Date 
- Amount
- Send On Date 
- Number of Debit/source accounts 
- Entered by User ID

You will be able to view a summary of the ACH transaction requiring approval. This will include if applicable:

  • Total Number of Records 
    Effective date of batch(es) 
  • Uploaded by, date, and time 

 

 

You will be prompted to enter your Company ID on the next page.

Yes! The People's United Bank Business Mobile app supports both passwords and security tokens. You can enter your PIN and one-time security code generated from your token in the Password field.

Each user will need to be entitled to the mobile banking service by the Primary User or another user with Administrative privileges. Once a user is entitled they will need to download the app and can login with their eTreasury+ credentials.

The sign off button is accessible from any location within the app. For iOS devices sign off can be found at the top left corner whereas Android devices sign off is located in the top right corner.

Yes. To download People's United Bank App for tablet devices, visit the Apple App StoreGoogle Play Store or Amazon App Store from your tablet device, search for "People's United Bank Business" and follow the instructions to download and register your device.

You will need the merchant’s name, account number and address (a phone number is optional). This information is commonly found on an invoice or statement. 

We will search by the payee name to determine if we have merchant information which will prefill for you if available.

You have the ability to pay a bill and cancel a scheduled bill payment though mobile banking. To edit a scheduled payment or reoccurring payment rules please visit eTreasury+ to complete those changes.

Searching for the nearest location is easy.

  1. From the navigation menu select 'Locations'
  2. Share your current location or enter a City/Town or zip code
  3. A list of the nearest locations will be returned
  4. Simply select the location and tap Get Directions
Mobile Web

The Mobile website is optimized specifically for mobile web viewing. If you have a web browser on your device, you will be able to access Mobile Web Banking. Mobile Web Banking is available for Personal and Business banking customers. Message and data rates may apply. Contact your wireless service provider for more information.

To enroll your phone for Mobile Web Banking, you must have a People's United Bank eTreasury+ profile.

1. From your mobile device visit www.peoples.com
2. Select Login and then Login to eTreasury+
3. Enter your eTreasury+ User ID and password and click continue.
4. If you'd like your device to remember your User ID, select "Save my User ID"
5. On the next page enter your Company ID and click Sign on.
6. On your first login through Mobile Web Banking you will be prompted to enter the mobile phone number you have registered through eTreasury+ in your user profile.
7. Accept our Business Mobile Banking Terms and Conditions
8. Register your mobile phone and click submit

For future visits, visit m.peoples.com, choose an option from the menu and login with your eTreasury+ credentials.

Ensure your phone's browser has cookies enabled. In addition, enable style sheets for the best viewing experience. To do so, reference the manual that came with your device for instructions.

When you login from a mobile device that our Business Mobile Banking system does not recognize, you will be prompted for enhanced authentication. You can also register your mobile device through eTreasury+

Yes, our Mobile Website offers a customized experience when mobile web browsing. Although the People's United Bank website that is viewed on your PC can also be viewed on the browser of your mobile device, the People's United Banking Mobile Website is optimized specifically for mobile web viewing.

You can make payments, view account balances, search recent account activity, view paid check images, transfer funds between People's United accounts, download the Mobile App or find the nearest Branch or ATM location.

Yes, your session will time out after you have been idle for a period of time.
