How to get started using
Person-2-Person Online Payments

Send money from your checking account to almost anyone with just an email address or a mobile phone number.

How to enroll

Enroll in Person-2-Person Pay with just a few simple steps:

  • Select Person-2-Person from the top menu bar
  • On the enrollment page, verify your email address
  • Select Enroll
  • Review our People's United Person-2-Person Pay Service Agreement and Disclosures; acknowledge that you have read the agreement, and click enroll
  • A confirmation code will be sent to your e-mail address. Enter the confirmation code and click submit

Sending money

Click Person-2-Person then:

  • Choose from your existing Contacts or enter the details for the person you want to pay and how much you want to send
  • Select the account you want to use to send from
  • Select how you want to send it
  • Enter an optional message to the recipient
  • Review, confirm and pay

Receiving money

For recipients enrolled in Person-2-Person Pay, start by clicking Person-2-Person and then:

  • Select the Incoming tab
  • Choose the Unclaimed Payment
  • View the payment details and click Claim
  • Choose how you want to claim the payment, where to deposit it and click Claim

  • For recipients not enrolled in Person-2-Person Pay, an email or text message will be sent and then:
  • Select the link in the payment message
  • Enter the claim code included in the message
  • Select how you want to receive it
  • Enter claim related details and click Continue
