How to get started using Online Account Alerts

Use alerts to monitor your spending and important transactions. You can choose to receive alerts via email or text, or both.

How Set Account Alert Preferences

Once you are a People’s United Bank customer simply sign up for Online Banking. Once that is completed log into Online Banking then:

  • Click All, Settings then Alerts or Click More, Customer Service then Alerts
  • Verify your contact email and mobile phone number are correct
  • You can click Change to update your contact information
  • The Account Alerts tab will already be selected
  • Choose your account
  • Click Add next to each alert you want to enable
  • Select your alert delivery preference (email, text or both) and click Add this alert

Set Bill Pay, Person-2-Person Pay & Service Alert Preferences

Once you are a People’s United Bank customer simply sign up for Online Banking. Once that is completed log into Online Banking then:

  • Click All, Settings then Alerts or Click More, Customer Service then Alerts
  • Verify your contact email and mobile phone number are correct
  • You can click "Change" to update your contact information
  • Select the tab for the type of Alerts you want to review
  • Click "Add" next to each alert you want to enable
  • Select your alert delivery preference (email, text or both) and click Add this alert
  • Many of the Alerts are mandatory. For mandatory alerts, select Change to modify the delivery preference
