Getting Started

People's United Business Mobile Banking lets you bank wherever and whenever you want, right from your mobile device, by downloading the app from your device’s app store.

The People's United Bank Business Mobile app can be used on most mobile devices.  Refer to our online system requirements for details.

The People's United Business Mobile Banking app allows you to login using biometrics, view your People's United Bank deposit and loan account balances and history, view paid check images, pay bills, manage payees, transfer funds between your People's United Bank accounts, make deposits, and quickly approve time-sensitive transactions such as ACH and Wire Transfers. 

Note: The accounts viewable through the app must be established in eTreasury+.

No, you must first enable your bank account(s) and establish a mobile phone number within eTreasury+ before using Business Mobile Banking.

We do not charge for the People's United Business Mobile Banking service. Message and data rates may apply. Contact your wireless service provider for more information.

The Business Mobile Banking service utilizes best practices from eTreasury+, such as HTTPS, 256-bit SSL encryption, biometrics, PIN, password or security token access, one-time security code authentication, and app time-out when your phone is not in use. In addition, no account data is ever stored on your phone.

You may enroll other mobile devices for Business Mobile Banking by using additional mobile phone numbers that you have indicated through your personal preferences in eTreasury+.

If you are concerned about possible misuse of your phone, contact your mobile service provider immediately to take appropriate action. Additionally, please call (800) 525-9248 to disable or remove your mobile device.

You will need to enroll your new device for Business Mobile Banking. This is completed during the initial sign on to Business Mobile Banking using the new device.

Simply update your mobile phone numbers in eTreasury+ by going to “Administration” > “Manage contact preferences.”

Please call (800) 525-9248, to get a temporary password. Log into your Business Online Banking eTreasury+ profile with your temporary password and follow the prompts to create a new permanent password. Once you have successfully created a new password, you can log into Business Mobile Banking using your new password.

You must first log into your Business Online Banking eTreasury+ profile with your temporary password and follow the prompts to create a new permanent password.

To log into Business Mobile Banking you will need to have a mobile phone number established in eTreasury+. You can add a mobile phone number by following these steps:

 

  1. Log into eTreasury+
  2. Go to “Administration” > “User Administration”
  3. Select the User to update their Contact Information
  4. Click “Edit Contact Information”
  5. Select “Add additional telephone number”
  6. Choose a label of “Mobile”
  7. Enter the User’s mobile phone number (numeric only)
  8. Click “Save User”

If you wish to temporarily disable your device from Business Mobile Banking, complete the following steps: 

  1. Log into eTreasury+
  2. Under “Administration,”  click “Manage Business Mobile Banking settings”
  3. Choose “Disable Device” 

You will need to re-enable and re-activate your device for future use. 

If you no longer want to use Business Mobile Banking, you may choose to remove your device. You will need to go through the Business Mobile Banking enrollment process for future use. 

To remove your phone or other mobile device:

  1. Log in to eTreasury+
  2. Click Manage Business Mobile Banking settings under Administration
  3. Choose "Remove your Device" 

Once you remove your device, you will need to re-enroll to start using Business Mobile Banking again. 

If you temporarily disabled your mobile device from Business Mobile Banking, you will need to re-enable your device as follows:

  1. Log into eTreasury+
  2. Under “Administration,” click “Manage Business Mobile Banking settings”
  3. Choose “Enable Device”
  4. Follow the activation instructions

If you removed your mobile device entirely from Business Mobile Banking, you will not be able to re-enable the device. To re-enroll your device, you will need to follow the same steps that you took when you originally registered your device for Business Mobile Banking.

You may occasionally experience inconsistent performance or uncommon errors while using Business Mobile Banking due to caching issues and may need to have the cache, cookies, and history cleared from your device.

See below for instructions on how to clear the cache, cookies, and history for Android and Apple devices. For mobile devices not included in this list, you may reference the manual that came with your device for instructions.

For Android:

Step 1: Tap on “Settings”

Step 2: Select “Apps” and tap on the People’s United Bank App

Step 3: Tap on “Storage”

Step 4: Tap on “Clear cache” and “Clear data”

Some devices may have an app manager after selecting Apps and before locating People's United Bank

For Apple:

Step 1: From the list of apps on your iPhone, tap on “Settings”

Step 2: From the Settings screen, tap on “Safari”

Step 3: Tap on “Clear History and Website Data”

Be sure to check with your manufacturer to understand how this change may impact other apps.

Mobile Check Deposit

Yes! Just follow these simple steps: 

  1. Sign into the Business Mobile Banking app
  2. From the navigation menu select “+”
  3. Choose “Check Deposit” to start a new deposit
  4. Endorse the check you wish to deposit
  5. Snap a picture of the front and back of your endorsed check
  6. Tap “OK” once you capture the check images
  7. Complete the Deposit Info fields 

For the best check image results: 

  • The check should be placed on a dark background
  • All four corners of the check must also fit within the boundary indicated by the app
  • Select a surface with indirect, natural sunlight for best results 

At this time all customers are assigned the Gold level limit regardless of the tenure or balances. See below for details. In the future, the limits that will be applied will depend on how long you have been a customer of People’s United and the balances you maintain in all of your accounts held at People’s United, regardless of eligibility for mobile check deposit.

If you have been a customer for more than ninety (90) days, we have three categories of limits based on your collected monthly balances.


Bronze: Maintain an average collected monthly balance for the last ninety (90) days of less than $10,000.00.

If you are a customer of People’s United for less than ninety (90) days and your aggregate opening deposit balance is less than $10,000.00, the New customer category will be applied for the first ninety (90) days. If you are a customer of People’s United for less than ninety (90) days but your aggregate opening deposit balance is $10,000.00 or more, you will be eligible for the Bronze category described above.

If you need to deposit a large volume of checks or need a higher deposit limit, our Remote Deposit Capture provides customized limits to meet your need. Please contact a Treasury Management expert at 888-280-4635 for more information about Remote Deposit Capture.

At this time, there are no plans to change your limits from the Gold plan based on your tenure with People’s United Bank or the balances maintained in your accounts.

Most domestic checks may be processed through the Business Mobile Banking app. We are unable to accept Money Orders, Foreign Items, Savings Bonds, or Third-Party Checks through the app.

For checks deposited and accepted before 7:00 p.m. ET on a business day, funds will be available the next business day. For checks deposited and accepted after 7:00 p.m. ET on a business day or on a non-business day, funds will be available on the second business day after your deposit. View our Business Mobile Banking Agreement for details.

Yes, the People's United Bank Business Mobile Banking tablet apps support mobile check deposit. A device with a rear-facing, auto-focused camera is required.

You will need to retake the image of the check you are trying to deposit. When taking the picture of your check, make sure the image of the check is centered, all four check corners are visible, and the picture is taken on a well-lit flat surface.

Please contact us at (800) 525-9248. This error means your account does not meet the following criteria:

  • Must be a valid, open business account type
  • The business accounts may have exceeded the number of allowed returned deposited items

Yes, you can press the “Cancel” button which will allow you to cancel or delete the deposit.

If you would like to retake a picture of the check, you can press the “Edit” button to retake one or both of the images.

If you did not tap the “Submit” button you can edit the check deposit.

We will review all incoming checks to ensure they meet all requirements including dollar amount. If we find the amount of the check you entered does not match the amount posted on the check, we will correct the amount. You will then receive an email notification of the changes.

No, all checks must be endorsed with a signature or listed "for deposit only." Please refer to the Business Mobile Banking Agreement for further information.

Mobile App

To download the Business Mobile Banking app to your device, you must have an eTreasury+ profile and perform the following steps:

  1. Visit the Apple App Store or Google Play Store
  2. Search for People's United Bank Business
  3. Download the app
  4. Enter your eTreasury+ Company ID and User ID and tap “Continue”
  5. If you would like your device to remember your Company ID and User ID, enable the Save option
  6. On the next page, enter your Password or security token and tap “Continue”
  7. During your first login to Business Mobile Banking you will be prompted to receive a one-time security code via text message to the mobile phone number you have registered through eTreasury+ in your user profile. You may be prompted for a one-time security code during future login attempts.
  8. Accept our Business Mobile Banking Terms and Conditions
  9. Register your mobile phone number and tap “Submit”

The Business Mobile Banking and Mobile Check Deposit service are separate services and will need to be entitled to each user in eTreasury+. To entitle a user follow these steps:

  1. Log into eTreasury+
  2. Go to “Administration” > “User Administration”
  3. Select the User to update their entitlements
  4. “Edit Services & Accounts”
  5. Click “Add the Mobile Banking and Mobile RDC services”
  6. Select the accounts that the User should be allowed to make deposits into for Mobile RDC
  7. Click “Save Changes” after entitling the accounts
  8. Click “Save Changes” to confirm the addition of the entitlements
  9. Confirm that user has a mobile phone number setup in their Contact Informationn

The Navigation Menu provides quick access to available features and is available on many pages within the app. Quickly navigate to view accounts, recent transactions, access the Task"+" menu, locate People's United Bank branches and ATMs, and access "More" which includes Approvals.

Yes! The People's United Business Mobile app supports both passwords and security tokens. You can enter your PIN and one-time security code generated from your token or just the security code from your Soft Token in the Passcode field.

The Task “+” Menu provides access to money movement features. Money movement features include transfers, bill pay, and check deposit.

The "More" menu contains links to features such as bill payee management, access to Approvals, the ability to manage biometric login, and Help, which includes FAQs.

Access recent check deposit and bill payment transactions including scheduled payments using the "Recent" function from the Navigation Menu.

The approval feature on the iPhone or Android smartphone app allows users to review and transmit transactions. Approval roles, transaction type access, and limits are maintained in eTreasury+.

The Approvals option will only display in the mobile banking app 'More' menu if the User has been assigned the Approve User Role in eTreasury+ allowing the User to approve transactions and/or allowing the User administration privileges. Roles are assigned in eTreasury+ through Manage Users.

Yes, a secure token is required to approve any ACH and/or Wire Transfer request.

Yes, both current day and scheduled transactions are available to be approved using the app. There are two tabs within the Approvals page separating each type of request.

Transaction details may contain the following based on the type of transaction being viewed:

  • Originating/Destination 
  • ACH Name / ACH ID 
  • Template Name 
  • Recipient Name
  • Effective Date 
  • Amount
  • Send On Date 
  • Number of Debit/source accounts

  • Effective date of batch(es) 
  • Uploaded by, date, and time 

 

 

Yes. To download People's United Bank App for tablet devices, visit the Apple App Store or Google Play Store from your tablet device, search for "People's United Bank Business" and follow the instructions to download the app.

Searching for the nearest location is easy. 

  1. From the Navigation menu select “Locations”
  2. Share your current location or enter a City/Town or ZIP code
  3. A list of the nearest locations will be returned
  4. Simply select the location and tap “Get Directions” 
Bill Payment

You will need the merchant’s name, account number and address (a phone number is optional). This information is commonly found on an invoice or statement. 

We will search by the payee name to determine if we have merchant information which will prefill for you if available.

You can pay a bill and cancel a scheduled bill payment though mobile banking. To edit a scheduled payment or reoccurring payment rules please visit eTreasury+ to complete those changes.
