Associate Development Program

As a new college graduate, you can build a solid foundation for a successful career in banking through our Associate Development Program. Experience high-impact, challenging rotational assignments in a career track that aligns with your background and interests.

Expand your opportunities

In our 12-month rotational program, you'll gain a strong understanding of the banking industry and a solid foundation through cross-functional and cross-business unit experience and developmental activities. Rotate through various departments within a business unit to learn the business, develop skills, and contribute to the work.

  • Attend workshops and networking events
  • Work directly with business leaders
  • Receive ongoing coaching, feedback, and mentorship

Upon completion of the program, you will move into a position based on business needs, your career path, preferences, and unique skill sets.

Recruiting for the Associate Development Program

  • WHEN? Recruitment begins in the fall prior to a June start date.
  • WHERE? Check for campus events and career fairs at colleges in the markets we serve.
  • WHO? Open to recent graduates of undergraduate and graduate programs with a minimum GPA of 3.2, and concentrations in business and banking related fields (e.g., analytics, finance, economics, technology, management, human resources, marketing).
  • HOW? We seek candidates interested in a financial services career, who are adaptable, able to manage projects independently, and ready to assume a high level of responsibility as a member of a team.

Corporate Internship Program

If you're interested in a career in the financial services industry, People’s United Bank Corporate Internship Program offers qualified interns the opportunity to develop the skills and knowledge needed for select positions in critical growth areas across the company. Many of our interns become full time employees.

Internship program highlights

In partnership with select colleges and universities in our region, we recuit rising college-level Juniors, Seniors and graduate students interested in financial services to full-time, paid internships in key business areas. Placement is based upon the student's academic experience and interests and availability of projects, including:

Recruiting for Corporate Internships

  • WHEN? Recruitment occurs every year from November thorugh March. The internship program runs from the first week of June through the first week of August.
  • WHERE? Check out campus events and career fairs at colleges in the markets we serve.
  • WHO? Rising college-level juniors and seniors or graduate students who maintain a minimum GPA of 3.2 in a business or banking related field (e.g., analytics, finance, economics, technology, management, human resources, marketing). .
  • HOW? We focus on candidates who want to pursue a career in financial services who are adaptable, able to manage projects independently and ready to assume a high level of responsibility as a member of a team.
