People's, Career Resources Honored for Stimulating Economic Growth

BRIDGEPORT, CONN.
Career Resources, Inc., was honored by the Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston with the FHLBB’s 2000 Community Development Award for Connecticut. The awards recognize the important role that partnerships between member institutions and nonprofit development organizations play in stimulating economic growth in their communities.

Bridgeport-based Career Resources was honored for its training and supportive services, helping people move into jobs in fields such as computer repair, Internet page design, advanced computer applications and administrative assistant. People’s Bank, which has included Career Resources in its staff recruiting, nominated the organization and shared in the award.

“We are thrilled and honored to have won this award. People’s Bank has been a great partner in assisting Career Resources to help families to economic self-sufficiency. We appreciate their recognition and effort,” said Rina G. Bakalar, executive director of Career Resources.
