Sound Tigers/ People's Bank Press Conference

People's Bank to Sponsor Cool Fun 101 Game and Recognize Students with Sound Tigers

The Bridgeport Sound Tigers and People's Bank have joined forces and will recognize Bridgeport students at the People's Bank Cool Fun 101 game on Nov. 15. A press conference to announce the partnership will be held on Thursday, Nov. 2 at 1:30 p.m. at Columbus School with some of the many students selected to attend the game.

Students have been chosen for their commitment to a never-quit academic effort, outstanding citizenship and community service. Among those who will be on hand for the press conference are Sound Tigers' management and coaching staff, Storm the mascot, People's Bank representatives, Columbus School administrators and Bridgeport Public School officials.

"People's Bank is proud to partner with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers for this fun and educational event," said Armando Goncalves, first vice president and Greater Bridgeport growth manager. "Just as the Sound Tigers understand the value of teamwork and determination, we want Bridgeport students to appreciate the value of dedication to academic excellence and being good citizens. People's is happy to play a role in helping teach our students this important life lesson."

Upon entering the Arena at Harbor Yard for the Nov. 15 game (11 a.m.), each student will receive a People's Bank Cool Fun 101 work booklet which promotes education while having fun with the sport of hockey. Each student will have the unique chance to get up close and personal with a Sound Tiger, participate in a pre-game Chalk Talk, and most importantly, listen to Sound Tiger players stress the virtues of being a conscientious citizen of the world and a great student.

The goal of the Sound Tigers' and People's Bank officials is to promote education and that each student walks away with determination to achieve in school and life, while enjoying a great hockey game.
