People's Bank Makes Donation To The Susan B. Anthony Project

BRIDGEPORT, CONN. - People's Bank has announced its donation of $10,000 over three years to the Susan B. Anthony Project's Youth Development and Education Program. The Youth Development and Education Program focuses on programs that foster positive communication, build self esteem and help to resolve conflicts in the lives of youth in northwestern Connecticut.

In 2004-2005, the program served 3,811 young people. The program makes use of two youth development methods, prevention education and support groups, to address issues such as bullying, sexual harassment and healthy relationships. Because the program is interactive, it encourages engagement and increases the likelihood that students will remember and use what they have learned. The Youth Development and Education Program targets students in public schools, alternative education programs and residential treatment facilities.
