Southington Touch-A-Truck Event Gets Into Gear

People's Bank to host a day of family fun

WHAT:
People's Bank in Southington will host Touch-A-Truck day so that children can explore municipal vehicles and meet the personnel who protect and serve the community. While children are exploring the vehicles, parents can learn about ways to finance their child's college education. This fun-filled day will feature People's Bank raffle giveaways. Additionally, Amber Alert personnel will be on hand to register children for the program.

WHY:
As the back to school season gets under way, many parents are beginning to plan for the future by thinking about financing their child?s education. People's Bank is providing parents with the perfect opportunity to learn about college financing while their child enjoys learning about town vehicles and the people who protect and serve our community.

WHO:
People's Bank Financial Advisor and staff;Connecticut State Trooper Joe with his canine partner, Rocky;Southington firefighters with their fire trucks;Southington police officers with their police cruiser;American Medical Response personnel with their ambulance;Crowley Hummer with their Hummer 3, U.S. Army personnel with their HMMV and Big Bob of the Connecticut Street Rod Association with a 1926 Chevy Pickup.

WHEN:
Saturday, October 15, 2005, 10 a.m. ? 2 p.m. In the event of rain, the event will take place on Saturday, Oct. 22, at the same location and time.
