People's Bank web site re-launched to better serve customers and reflect brand

BRIDGEPORT, CONN. - People's Bank Web site - peoples.com - has a brand-new look today with a style that provides customers with easier, faster online access to critical information and better reflects the bank's brand and marketing messages.

New features include:

• A direct login to People's online from the home page, providing customers with even easier access to their accounts and online bill-pay features.
• "Quick Links" from the home page to often-used sections such as Branch/ATM locator, online check reordering and loan applications.
• New content areas for small business and commercial customers designed to meet their needs.
• A revamped Careers site, featuring information about current job openings and the benefits of working at People's.

The new design provides increased flexibility to promote special offers or highlight important events directly on the home page, so users won't have to click through to another page to find the information.

"We wanted our site to better reflect the bank's brand and our commitment to our online customer experience," said Scott Hurlbert, manager of Online Services at People's. "This new design gives customers and prospective customers an opportunity to find what they need quickly and easily through a more streamlined layout."

People's partnered with leading Web design firm Silver Oven Studios of Portsmouth, N.H., to develop the new look for peoples.com. Silver Oven has done site development and design for clients such as The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal.

Peoples.com users will continue to be able to chat online with bank sales representatives or receive an instant telephone call back during business hours. The site is seen more than 1 million times a month and contains 1,300 Web pages and 26,000 links.
