People's Financial Experts to
Speak at Seminar in Plainfield

BRIDGEPORT, CONN. - People's Securities, Inc., a subsidiary of People's Bank, will sponsor a free financial seminar called "Retirement Planning - Traditional IRA vs. Roth IRA" at the bank's Plainfield office, 67 Lathrop Rd., on Monday, Feb. 10, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Financial experts from People's will offer customers guidance on investing and retirement planning.

Renee Goupille, financial service manager, at the bank's Plainfield branch, will host the evening. Kaye Hathorn, a registered investment consultant at People's Securities, Inc., will discuss the benefits of traditional and Roth IRAs to help customers determine how these accounts fit into retirement planning. Gray Horn, vice president, Trust and Investment Management at People's, will be on hand to answer questions on the synergy of retirement and estate planning.

"Many people felt the Tax Reform Act of 1986 took the teeth out of individual retirement planning," said Hathorn. "The introduction of the Roth IRA in 1998 had a significant impact on that thought process. By sharing our expertise on topics such as investing and retirement planning, we can help consumers make more informed decisions about their financial future."
