Barbara Healy Named Vice President of People's Corporate University

BRIDGEPORT, CONN.
People's Bank today announced the appointment of Barbara Healy as vice president of People's Corporate University. PCU is the learning organization within the bank that focuses on developing leadership, management, and sales and service skills, as part of People's strategic goal of partnering with employees to be a Workplace of Choice. Leveraging technology to allow employees to learn from work or from home, Healy will direct the university's education strategy by focusing on employees' development needs.

"Barbara's extensive teaching, coaching and leadership experience will help us continue to attract, support, reward and retain Connecticut's most productive and engaged workforce."

Healy began her career at People's in 1999 as a senior training specialist in the Credit Card division. She moved to PCU as manager of special projects in 2000, and most recently served as manager of Marketing and Operations for PCU.

Prior to joining People's, Healy held a number of leadership positions including marketing and community relations manager for San Francisco's St. Francis Hospital;director of Marketing for both Republic Service Bureau in Illinois and the Physical Therapy Provider Network in San Francisco;and executive director of Communities In Schools, Inc., Snohomish County, Washington.

Healy earned a bachelor of arts degree in social science from San Francisco State University and a master's in whole systems design and organizational systems renewal from Antioch University. She is certified by Corporate Coach University as a master coach facilitator and has served as executive coach, trainer and management consultant at organizations such as Boeing Corporation, Costco, New York Times Magazine and the Yale Learning Center.

A Cheshire resident, Healy currently is a member of the board of directors of the Greater New Haven Leadership Council and a volunteer facilitator and trainer for the United Way. She is a former board member of the Arts Council of Snohomish County and has served as a mentor to children and adults in Washington, California and Connecticut.
