People's Offers Estate Planning Seminar in Mansfield

BRIDGEPORT, CONN.
People's Securities, Inc., a subsidiary of People's Bank, will sponsor a free financial seminar, "Estate Planning Basics," at its Mansfield office, 155 Storrs Rd., on Tuesday, Jan. 14, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Marsha Olszta, financial services manager, People's Mansfield branch, will host the evening. Kaye Hathorn, a registered investment consultant at People's Securities, Inc., and Attorney Gary Lavigne, of Barlow, Murphy & Lavigne, LLP, will both present at the seminar. Hathorn will discuss life insurance as an estate planning strategy and long-term care insurance;Attorney Lavigne will discuss wills, trusts and taxes.

"The changes in tax laws, a turbulent stock market and an uncertain economy can make estate planning a real challenge," said Kaye Hathorn. "Estate planning is a complicated topic, so a number of concerns and circumstances must be considered."
