People's Helps Red Cross Aid Victims of Tuesday's Tragedy

BRIDGEPORT, CONN.
People’s Bank is helping the American Red Cross help families across the country who were impacted by Tuesday’s events in New York, at the Pentagon and in Pennsylvania. All 145 People’s branches are accepting contributions to the American Red Cross National Disaster Relief Fund beginning today.

The fund assists victims of these and other disasters by providing food, shelter and counseling to people impacted by them and to emergency workers. Checks made out to the American Red Cross will be collected and sent to the National Disaster Relief Fund. Contributions are tax-deductible.

“Americans have stepped forward to do whatever they can for the people affected by these horrible events,” said John A. Klein, president and CEO, “and People’s is proud to play a role in getting help to victims of these events in their time of need.”

“The American Red Cross is honored to have the support of People’s Bank employees and customers as we respond to this devastating disaster,” said Dianne Auger, executive director, American Red Cross of Southeastern Fairfield County. “We are able to keep our promise to be there in times of disaster and offer life-saving hope because of this tremendous outpouring of community support.”
