BUYING & SELLING STOCK

Trading securities is easy with People's Online™. Begin by clicking on the Buy/Sell Stock link from the Navigation Bar located on the left side of the screen. Then follow the steps shown below.

1. Select Transaction type
Buy - To purchase stock.
Buy to Cover Short Position - The purchase of stock to reimburse the brokerage firm for a short sell transaction. Available in margin and/or short accounts only.
Sell From Portfolio - To sell a stock that is being held in "street name" at People's Securities Inc.
Sell Not in Account - To sell a stock that is being held by shareholder in "certificate form."
Sell Short - When a stock is sold and borrowed shares are replaced; holding period is never established. Available in margin and short accounts only.

2. Enter the Number of Shares The quantity you wish to buy or sell.

3. Enter the Stock Symbol If you don't know the symbol, click on the "Symbol Lookup" link on the right side of the screen.

4. Select Order Type
Market - No specific price is specified; order is filled at prevailing market price.
Limit - A limit to buy is to be filled at that price or better(lower). A limit to sell is to be filled at that price or better(higher).
Stop - A stop order to sell is filled if the market falls to that price or lower. A stop order to buy is filled if the market rises to that price or higher.

5. Price Leave blank unless limit or stop is selected.

6. Qualifiers
All or None - Either entire order is filled or order is not executed.
Do Not Reduce - On ex date orders are reduced to reflect loss of dividend; if DNR is specified, order is not reduced.
All or None & Do Not Reduce - Both AON and DNR apply to order.

7. Duration
Day - Order is cancelled at the end of the day if order is not filled.
Good till Cancelled - as stated.

8. Click Preview Order

9. Review order and enter PSC and phone number.

10. Click on Submit Order If you are satisfied and would like to place the order.

Your trade is then sent to People's Securities for approval. You can check the status of your trades using the Open Order or Execution links located on the Navigation Bar.
