Credit Histories For Women

What is a credit history?

It is a detailed record of your debts and a track record of your responsiveness in repaying those debts. Whenever you ask for a loan or a credit card, the issuer will obtain a copy of your credit report to ensure that you are creditworthy. If you have any outstanding debt, or are chronically late in making payments, this is where it will show up.

There are three major credit reporting bureaus - Experian, Equifax and Trans Union. You can visit their websites to find out how to obtain a copy of your credit report. It's important to check all three as they can contain different information.
