Operation Respect CT is

  • Dedicated to improving the learning and work environments for all Connecticut's children and adults by replacing teasing, name-calling, harassment and other bullying behaviors with respect and compassion.
  • A collaborative with schools, school boards, parents, community organizations and businesses to provide opportunities and support for improving the individual skills needed to deal with issues of bullying.
  • A co-sponsor of the "Don't Laugh at Me" initiative founded by Peter Yarrow of Peter, Paul and Mary fame. This multi-media curriculum concentrates on recognizing intolerance, increasing acceptance and enhancing sensitivity to students' emotional needs.
  • The source of training for the "Don't Laugh at Me" initiative to adults who work with children in more than 750 schools and community-based organizations representing more than 90% of Connecticut's school districts.
  • Committed to eliminating the reasons that so many children go to school each day in fear.
  • Working with communities to create respectful living environments for all citizens.

Shared respect is everyone's responsibility.
