Our Interview and Selection Process

We invite you to view available openings and submit your resume to positions for which you meet the stated requirements.

Once you enter our Search/Apply for Jobs page, you will have three options:

  1. Build a resume and apply for a specific job,
  2. Create a resume, store it in the system and apply later, or
  3. Download and update your existing resume in our database.

Once we receive your resume, it is reviewed by a human resources staffing specialist. You will be contacted for an interview by either a human resources staffing specialist or a hiring manager if you meet the listed job requirements.

If you are a candidate for the position of Customer Service Associate, you will be asked to complete a pre-assessment. If you pass the assessment, you will be given an option to schedule an interview on-line with a staffing specialist. You will be notified of your status and whether or not you passed the assessment and will be granted an interview. If you did not pass, you can reapply in six months.

During the interview process, you will be asked questions that attempt to draw out your past experiences in each of the core competencies necessary to succeed in the position and at People's United Bank. This technique is called behavioral-based interviewing. We want to know more about you than just your dates of prior employment and academic background. We want to know how you work and how you have responded in certain situations - this gives us better insight into what experiences you may have had that would prepare you to be successful at People's United.

Consistent with our commitment to a drug-free and honest work environment, all job offers are contingent upon successfully passing a drug screening test and a satisfactory background investigation which includes a fingerprint check.

People's United Bank and its subsidiaries are equal opportunity and affirmative action employers M/F/D/V.
