Reward and Recognition

Appreciation. Acknowledgement. A simple thank you for a job well done. We believe that recognition programs - formal and informal - are critical to employee satisfaction, engagement and retention and have made recognition an important part of our culture.

Throughout the bank, there are many programs to recognize individual and team performance. For example, branch banking holds quarterly recognition events to recognize the achievements of its employees. In some areas, there is a "Leadership as ART" award where managers formally recognize outstanding employees quarterly for being Accountable, Results oriented and for fostering Teamwork. In other areas, there are peer awards, where employees can nominate one of their peers for his/her performance and achievements.

Award recipients may, for example, receive certificates of recognition, gift certificates to various well-known retail establishments, or other forms of recognition.

At People's United, we believe it is important to celebrate the anniversary of your employment with us and recognize your achievements. As part of our Service Award Program, employees receive recognition certificates and a gift voucher towards a purchase of their choice from over 350 vendors at their first, third, fifth year anniversaries and every fifth year after that.
