Continuous Learning

Continuous learning means never standing still, always striving for the next challenge. At People's United we encourage our employees to take on new assignments and stretch for that next goal. We want you to be successful, because People's United success is tied to yours. Our Performance Management System and Development Planning Process are designed to make that success a reality.

Performance Management
The Performance Management Program helps match individual performance with the vision, mission and business goals of the organization, while tracking accountability and rewarding performance.

Every employee works directly with his/her manager to establish an individual performance plan. The plan is reviewed periodically throughout a 12-month period to assess progress and address any issues that may arise. Both the employee and manager are accountable for working together to obtain the desired results - this is part of our Workplace of Choice Partnership.

Education - For You and Your Family

People's United Bank provides educational assistance to our employees. Full-time employees with a minimum of one year of service may be eligible to receive tuition up-front for their continuing education. Part-time employees scheduled to work at least 15 hours weekly may be eligible for tuition reimbursement.

People's United also offers college preparation, a homework hotline and tutoring support for our employees and their families.

Managers can take classes through People's United Corporate University to gain their Manager's Certification which provides a range of practical strategic approaches and tactics to help them in their role.
